The Unima Group was founded in 1965 by Aziz Ismail. Committed and visionary, the Ismails made environmental and biodiversity preservation central to their project. After numerous studies conducted since the 1980s, Aziz Ismail, with his son Amyne, developed the Malagasy aquaculture eco-model. In 2004, the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food awarded Label Rouge certification to Unima's shrimp, making it the first non-European agri-food company to obtain this prestigious label. The Group then ventured into farming organic-certified shrimp.
Today, the Unima Group remains a globally recognized company for the production of eco-responsible shrimp, exceptional by nature.
